Ward Dairy

Protocols

  • Trim Cows

  • Scan all cows tags/enter into phone

  • Write down only #’s of lame cows on paper (cows that need wrapped or suggest beef)

  • Med Cows- M on Head

  • Injury Cows- Tag ear

  • Beef Cows- B on Head

  • Load max of 12 cows at a time (6 in each part of trim area)

  • No Blocking Cows (circle BLK on paper if we would block)

Weekly Schedule

EVERYDAY

  • Show up Clean {see attached list}

  • Grab Scanner and phone out of scale room

  • Turn on Chute

  • Prepare Supplies, Tools, Equipment

  • Trim Cows

  • Clean Area, Tools, Equipment

  • Put away Tools, Equipment

  • Inspect Chutes for any issues, write down any issues-send to ____________ {see attached list}

  • Take picture of paper, write down #’s for the day in notes

  • Turn in paper, scanner, phone into scale house (Do not sync or plug in scanner/phone)

  • Clean Vehicle if necessary

 

Wednesday

  • Dry Cows

  • They Pull Cows

 

Thursday

  • Maintenance / Lame Cows

  • Pens on North Side of Dairy

  • They Pull Cows

 

Friday

  • Maintenance / Lame Cows

  • Pens on South Side of Dairy

  • They Pull Cows
